How to Root the HDC X19i A9100 Cosmos X12 MT6573 Phone

We are talking about this phone.

First of all, your phone is on, go to the settings, applications - development and check the USB debugging mode:

connect the phone to your pc, it is of MOST importance, that the phone is recognized as an ADB-device in your device manager:






If it is not, the adb-drivers are missing. There are TWO possibilities to get those drivers:

1. Download PdaNet, install it and hope that the drivers are included for your system. Or:
2. Try these drivers.

Once your phone is recognized as an ADB-Device, you are ready to go.

Download Super One Click V2.2 and run it.





Leave all the default settings and click on "Root"
You will be asked:

That would be a decent thing to do ;-)

DONE.

You should now find a Superuser app on your phone, your phone should be rooted.

As a matter of fact, this USUALLY works with any MT6573 CPU phone, not just this model.

    But I have a problem with this phone, I had test many sim card in each slot and it don’t work, I cant’ call.

  3. Hi :-) I assume you have the sim cards inserted right, right? ;-) Please check if your phone has IMEI(s) by dialing *#06#

    Yes sim card are in slot :)
    I checked the IMEI and I have 2 numbers and it is the same as behind the phone

    1. I'm running out of ideas :-( Do you know what frequency Orange operates on? Maybe GSM 900, 850, 1900, 1800?

      If don't know if this will work but you can give it a try: Go into the engineer mode by dialing:

      *#*#3646633#*#*

      All the way at the bottom you'll find a "bandMode". you could try to set the phone to the right GSM frequency. I've never done that, so I really don't know if it'll work?

      Other than that, I can't think of a reason why you can't make calls :-(

    1. The very last thing I can think of is, do a factory reset but it'll erase everthing you have installed on your phone. If that doesn't work, I GUESS that the phone has a hardware defect.

    1. I don't know where the antanna is but if you can access it somehow, somtimes connecting some aluminum foil to it might increase the reception.

  13. Hello, I have Ihtc Sensation XL G21+, MTK6573 with 1.5 GHz CPU and android 4.0.1..I' m trying to follow this guide but the program crash after killing and starting adb server, i think during appluing gingerbreak. So my question is: is this guide avaible for ICS and windows 7?

    1. I don't think Super One Click supports ICS, sorry but I have no idea what other rooting methods might work with your phone.

    4. It says "Failed to get shell root"...I don' t know if it depends on ICS, I don' t think it depends on mtk...
      Maybe I have to get the phone S-off before?or trying to modify folder contents manually? help please :)

Actually i also have IHTC Sensation XL G21+ purchased from fastcardtech.com at first the program was stopping at step 7 but one day in morning i used superclick version 2.3.1 and by passed step 7 and the phone was rooted successful coz i managed to uninstall useless Chinese apps but cant know the clear guide for how i did it as my friends phone same type up to now isnt rooted but i can just suggest that you keep on trying once it will root it as its kennel is locked so a bit hard to root.

    I have its original Rom from the manufacture so in case if you can root it successfully before flash it to your phone then i can give you a link where you can download it from and the password

    Really in need of your help, i just bought a dual sim model android
    i9100 there is samsung written but im not sure its ofcourse a clone either way but when i want to go to see what android version this is by going to settings, phonesettings there is nothing about
    phone or anything like it to see any information about this phone
    are there different ways to find out?

    1. That's really weird?!? Applications should be in every android's phone settings, I've never seen an adroid phone without it.
