M99 Google 4S+ Phone

What you don't see in the video is the Android Market. It's not there by default, but it can be fixed :-)
I'll try to come up with a tutorial somehow :-)

    2. Hi, I just rooted my M99 Google 4S with Super one Click, as you described here:http://colonelzap.blogspot.de/2012/02/m99-google-4s-phone-android-market-fix.html
I also followed all the other steps in order to install Android Market, but when it comes to pasting the three applications from the market folder on the sd-card via the Root Explorer into system-apps of my phone it says: Your phone is not rooted. I can't find the mistake... Thank you!

    1. Hi there :-)
You are having problems getting online with a simcard, is that the problem?

Settings - carrier - Access Point Names must be configured to you service provide.

Also, settings - sim management - Data Connection must be turned on.

      Hope this helps? Good luck!

    1. No, it always depends on the particular phone. Some do have the market, some don't.

  6. Hi, I have also ordered one of these phones and am waiting for it to arrive, so really all I need to do to this phone to have it working ok out of the box is to install the Android market, install a decent keyboard, install root explorer and fix calendar and contacts sync. Then with all these fixes it should be ok for the average user.. So for $150 I should have a resonable phone with Android op system and have the ability to use iphone accessories docks etc.

    1. The firmware on MY phones doesn't have Greek in it, I can't tell you if there might be other firmwares out there that support it?

  11. Dear Sir, I have a sim for calling & text messaging and a sim with a added data pack. Should I put the data sim in slot 1 or 2? Any other things I should do to make this work? Hope you can help! Thanks!! Gr Wilbert

    1. Hi :-)
I think it doesn't matter, this phone supports EDGE only and that should work in either sim slot.

    2. Thanks for the very quick reply. Much appreciated. Just one more question. You mention Access Point Names must be configured. How do I do that? I already have set the data connection in Sim management and see the "E" next to the status bar at the top. Thanks!

    3. Hi again, no luck so far in getting it to work. Can you tell me the correct way of setting the phone up to make this work? Wifi, GPS etc works fine, just not able to go online when out of reach of the home network. Can you direct me?

    4. I don't know the setting for your service provider. Try to go into the settings - carrier - access point names.

    5. Hi, back with great news. Figured it out and it works great! My issue was when I go into access point names for the sim with the data, it came up blanc. When your here, just press and hold the - button for menu and here you can add a new APN. Solved! The E comes up etc. Just a tip. Havenot read that anywere.

      Thanks anyway for your responces!!

  12. I have noticed some problems with my Google M99 phone. When I am using Data (instead of Wifi), there are two problems:

    Hi,

I've had my Google M99 for a few weeks now and it all works well, except I've noticed the following problems when using Data (instead of WiFi):

    1) The touch screen behaves very erratically. It behaves like someone is touching the screen in random places very quickly and therefore makes the phone unusable.

    2) Data speed is VERY slow. I ran a Speedtest application to compare Data versus Wifi. With Wifi I get about 2000kbps. With Data I only get 40kbps! I checked my Sim card on a different phone and I can get 1200kbps when using Data.

I know it's a long shot, but have you come across any of these problems?

  13. Hi :-)

I have no clue about the touch screen problem but I'm not surprised that the data speed is slow. Keep in mind that this phone does NOT support 3G, EDGE is the fastest it can handle and EDGE is very slow.

    1. Thanks for the quick reply!

Ah, didn't know about the lack of 3G support. Do you know if any of the other iPhone clones from FastCardTech have 3G and as good as the M99?

    2. I can't think of an iPhone clone with dualsim and 3G right now?

There are a few iPhone clones available that support 3G but they are all single sim card phones.

    3. Thanks, I'll check out their website. I just assumed 3G was standard - didn't actually want the dual sim feature! Have you reviewed any of the single sim ones?

    4. No, I haven't. I'm hoping to get my hands on a "Thunderbird 4S" phone soon, hoping it'll be a good one :-)

    5. I've figured out the cause of the touch screen problem I mentioned above. It only happens when the back cover of the phone is on and using data (via EDGE) or voice calls. Sometimes the screen just goes crazy.

Have you ever heard of this sort of thing? What could be in the back cover to interfere with the phone??
