      i can tell you how to do a nandroid
      install mobile uncle.apk http://www.2shared.com/file/cjcscPAq/Mobileuncle-MTK-Android-Tools-.html ----> Reboot into recovery ----> backup & restore ----> restore ----> plz upload to any file hosting website! Thanks

You see i got an HDC A9100 & i want the launcher.apk + launcher.odex of the HDC I9100 S III <----> you make a copy if you have a rooted phone by installing root explorer and navigating to system/app/launcher.apk + launcher.doex (http://www.2shared.com/file/AxXdZeNm/root_explorer_v218.html)<------root explorer

    Every android phone comes with a defualt pre installed recovery, you can: apply zip from sd card
    backup & restore
    & and more options i cant remembr
    you're doind noting to your phone if you reboot into recovery.
    To navigate use menu/power (i dont about HDC SIII cos on HDC A9100 you use menu key) to select & volume up/down to go up/down.
    To get into recovery you can do manually or by software
    mobile uncle app <--- software
    (when the phone is fully off) volume up + power + home + insert usb cable same time!

    1. I'm sorry, I misunderstood, I thought the mobile uncle thing was the m44 recovery that replaces the phone's original recovery mode :-)

      Anyway, you got your files, no need for a nandroid backup :-)

  5. a nandroid backup can be very useful like if your phone bootloops you can restore to previous state!

      No, it doesn't. It doesn't come with any drawing software pre-installed, whatever software you want to use, you need to install it by yourself / download it from the market.

    did a factory reset to try and solve a problem
    on re-boot of the phone i have found i have lost the samsung boot logo some software version information have changed it now say i have andriod 2.3.4 before i had android 4.0 any help would be grateful

  13. Hi :-)
    When you do a factory reset, the firmware that was already installed is being re-installed. If something is missing then it wasn't part of the firmware, it had to be things that were installed separately. So, NO WAY a factory reset can change the Android version from ICS to Gingerbread. My GUESS is that you used to have a launcher installed that LOOKED like ICS but in reality your phone was on Gingerbread all the time.

    I just looked at the pictures on FCT, they show a picture of "Android 4.0.9", that is a FAKE, there is no Android 4.0.9 available, all the phones that show something like that have some sort of Launcher installed that manipulates the system info.
