Ployer Momo11 IPS Android ICS Angry Birds Edition Tablet Review - Rockchip RK2918

UPDATE: Apparently there are TWO versions of this tablet available, one "old" version with a Rockchip RK2918 CPU (running Gingerbread) and a new "Angry Birds Edition" with an Allwinner A10 CPU (running on ICS). The one in my video is the newer version.

The Tablet: CLICK

9.7 inch IPS capacitive 10-point multitouchscreen, 1024x768 pixel resolution
Allwinner A10 CPU @ approx. 1HGz
16GB / 1GB RAM
Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS)
Wifi / g-sensor / HDMI output
Dual Cameras (5MP und VGA output)

This device is very thin, it has an aluminum backcover, very high build quality. Trayability is great, serves easily a six-pack ;-) SPB Shell 3D runs very smoothly on it. In MY opinion this tablet beats the Cube U9GT2, the Onda Vi40 Elite and the Ainol Novo7 Aurora easily.

  1. pls make a video showing the
    onda vi40 elite teclast a10t
    (allwinner a10) ployer momo
    bird and cubeu9gt2 and
    comparing their thickness and
    viewing angles at full brightness

    1. I can't, I only have the Momo11 and the Vi40 left. Those two are almost indentical regarding the thickness (the Momo11 is SLIGHTLY thinner) and I can't see a difference in the viewing angle and the brightness.

  2. could you describe in more detail what you think is better about this tablet, versus the other IPS A10 tablets (like the ones you mention this one beating) I'm in the market for one of these and would value your added thoughts. Kind regards, Russell

    1. Well, technically this one is pretty much like the Vi40 but in my opinion the build qualilty and the "shape" is better. No hardware button on the front, a metal backcover, no "rough edges", ect. The Cube U9GT2 also has a very high build quality, but it is missing HDMI and it weighs about 30 gramms more than the Momo11 Bird. That's basically why I think this one beats the other two.

wat is ur pick i want ui to be responsive
i will be grateful to you if u make a comparison video
it will help many others (potential buyers) to make a choice between two

  5. Hi

    Great review. Many thanks.

    1. Thanks :-) I got mine from fastcardtech.com, I don't know who else is selling them? You can also search for a Gemei G9 tablet, as far as I know that one is identical.

    2. Many, many thanks for such a prompt reply.
I was wondering if these online stores are reliable to buy this or Gemei G9:

or there are others that are reliable? It will be great if you could respond to this.

And keep reviewing, your reviews are very informative.

      Best wishes,
      A

    5. Helo ColonelZap again,

I was looking for your review of Gemei G9. Have you done any review for that? I think its better than Ployer Momo11 due to better processor speed of 1.5ghz.

      Best wishes,
      A

    6. I believe the Gemei G9 and the Momo11 Bird are identical.

  7. Hi there . . . Thanks for your many reviews :)

Do you know if the momo11 bird comes already rooted? Thanks!

    1. Hi :-)

"kind of" ;-) The funny thing is, even without rooting you have root access. Don't ask me why, but I was able to make changes with the root explorer on this device without having super user on it.

  8. dear colonel, your reviews are great. whats your opinion about the nature of these Chinese makers/sellers. They seem to have little staff so much so that the Ployer website has Momo 11 Bird on frontpage flash but the link is of Momo 11. On asking via email Sales quickly replies that the real product is Momo 11 Bird. Selling products in their thousands and maintaining things with so few people, how is it possible?

    1. I have no idea how things acutally work in China, how all those factories work together with all the different "brands". One thing is for sure, Ployer isn't the manufacurer, they only lable the tablet with their logos, the table is also sold by other companies under different names.

  9. Hi Colonel, enjoyed your helpful review video, thanks!

Some people are saying in web reviews that the WiFi on the Momo11 has poor range - what do you think?

    1. I bought SBP a LONG time ago from a totally diffent device, made a backup, put it on my sd-card and installed it from there. I have all my software backed up on a sd-card, saves me a lot of time when I set up all my devices for reviewing :-)

  12. I purchased a ployer tablet from ployer-tablet.com. I paid $220 via Western Union to one Yang Fang in China. On email the name of the guy was Micheal. I ordered an ICS Ployer-Momo Bird PC Tablet that has Corxtex-8 processor. But they sent me Gingerbread Rockchip PC Tablet. Now GB is one grade and priced at $120. The product was sent from Hongkong. On receiving the tablet i informed Micheal of ployer-tablet and he immediately acknowledged the mistake and asked me to return the product and promised to refund my shipment cost and also that he will post me the correct ICS Tablet. The address to resend the product was A-1903, Zhongtai Yannan Mingting, No.88, Yannan Rd., Futian, Shenzhen, Guangdong, 518003 China. Now this exchange took place between May 22 to June 5 2012. I returned the Tablet on June 5. Since June 5 then Micheal has not replied. They dont acknowledge receiving the product nor respond to any emails. From the beginning they never sent their phone number. Generally they ignore your emails if they are about phone numbers. I found this later that on their website ployer-tablet.com they advertise only four products they sell, but if you order any one of them the reply email acknowledging your interest is always about the GingerBread Polyer-Momo Rockchip PC Tablet. So as I now realise that they only have one product to sell. The same focalandroid@gmail.com used to recieve payments via paypal for onda-tablet.com, ramos-tablet.com, cube-tablet.com and ployer-tabelt.com (http://tabletrepublic.com/forum/tablet-manufacturers-suppliers/onda-tablet-com-any-review-experiences-seller-1628.html) For sure those operating Ployer-tablet.com are a fraud. They either dont send anything and keep your money or they send wrong product and get it back.

I demand Chinese authorities to take action against this Yang Fang/Micheal of ployer-tablet.com and return me my money. I advise other people to check out the authencity of such suppliers, else you loose more money than its worth.

  13. Bought 2 Momo 11 Bird Tablets & 2 Momo 9 III tablets for my kids, wife & myself. My review starting with Momo11 Bird

    1. Momo9 Bird
I have had them for 1 week now & am really impressed by the design & quality. Everyone thinks I have an iPAD.... Screen are not Gorilla Glass (scratch easily) so the make sure you get screen protectors. Image quality is clear & bright at 1024x768. Tried HD movies & was blown away, very clear. You get 16GB as promised & all ports work well. Some built in Apps are in Chinese though. What i liked best was the support, now have ICS 4.0.4 downloaded from official website. Would recommend this tablet any day.

    2. Momo9 III
The kids enjoy them. Screen resolution is 800x480 not too bad. Can't wait for the 1024*768 version. Screen not Gorilla Glass (scratch easily) so the make sure you get screen protectors. Performance is good updated firmware from Ployer. Now on ICS 4.0.3. Would recommend this tablet any day.

  15. You can buy the Momo 11 bird and other versions of the ployer tablet from GTR Electronics.

They ship from the UK and I have to say their customer service is second to none. Gary is very helpful. They are also available through Amazon.

  16. Thanks for the review, have you had chance to get hold of the momo 11 speed yet?if so what do you think, worth buying?and are there any out there that is any better for about the same price thanks

  17. You can decide that which device you want to buy:
Smartphone, laptop or tablet. But I think Tablet device is best for the businessman because of many reason. Many branded company sell their tablet but you should take a look on some tablet review site before you buy it so that it will help you to have some knowledge about its feature, its benefit, U can compare them for justifying that which of them is best.

http://whattabletisthebest.com/ is a same liked site where many people said their experience, review and comments about using tablets. You also can take a look on there.
