Onda Vi40 Elite Firmware Update 4.0.3_v 0.8

A few days ago, Onda released a 4.0.3._v0.8 firmware update, yesterday they finally also released it for MY hardware version (the v1).

You can download the firware either from their site or here:

The good news is, the calendar sync with a google account is working now and the Android Market is also included.

The bad news is, the Android Market isn't finding all the apps that it's supoosed to. Essentials like google maps, street view, youtube, etc., they are all missing :-(


I thought, o.k., why not use the modified build.prob from my previous market fix, in that build.prob I used a fingerprint from a Samsung Galaxy S2 phone to fix the market issues. I gave it a shot - NO SUCCESS :-(


Right now, I am clueless what the problem is and how to fix it. I always thought that the build.prob is the answer to all the market problems one might have, I guess I was wrong.


So, if anyone has a good idea how we can fix this issue, please comment.

UPDATE: If you update the Market to "Google Play" the missing apps will appear!!! :-)

M99 Google 4S+ Phone - Firmware

Here a stock firmware for the M99 4S+ Phone:

EDIT 03.14.2012: This one should work: CLICK

Copy the whateveritiscalled.zip to the ROOT directory of your sd-card. Do NOT unzip it, do NOT put it into any folders, just copy it to your sd-card.

Phone is off, press and hold POWER and VOL (+) to boot into the Recovery Mode.

Do a wipe data/factory reset.
Select "apply update from sdcard".
Reboot.

M99 Google 4S+ Phone and GPhone F27 - Android Market Fix

Edit 03.20.2012: This procedure also works for the GPhone F27, it just needs some additional files.

Where to start?

O.k., let's start by downloading this package for the M99: CLICK

Unzip it.

Copy the m99market folder on the sd-card of your phone.

ROOTING: 

Turn on your phone, go to Settings - Applications - Development and check the USB-Debugging.

Start the Super One Click program on your pc.

Connect your phone to your pc. You phone NEEDS to be recognized as an "ADB-DEVICE" by your pc. 

Check your Windows device manager if it does. If it DOESN'T, you need to install the adb drives. You will need to point Windows to the

MT6573ADBdrivers

folder that is also included in the download package above.

Once your device is recognized as an ADB device, you are ready to click on "Root" in the Super One Click program. It should take a moment and hopefully your phone will be rooted then.

Market / Calendar / Contacts fix:

As you can see, this person also included the "root explorer" in his post, that is something you will need to have installed on your phone as well.

When your phone is rooted, when you have the M99market folder on your phone's sd card, when you have the Root Explorer installed on your phone, you are ready to follow these instructions:

What you don't see in the video is the Android Market. It's not there by default, but it can be fixed :-)

How to Root the HDC X19i A9100 Cosmos X12 MT6573 Phone

We are talking about this phone.

First of all, your phone is on, go to the settings, applications - development and check the USB debugging mode:

connect the phone to your pc, it is of MOST importance, that the phone is recognized as an ADB-device in your device manager:

If it is not, the adb-drivers are missing. There are TWO possibilities to get those drivers:

1. Download PdaNet, install it and hope that the drivers are included for your system. Or:
2. Try these drivers.

Once your phone is recognized as an ADB-Device, you are ready to go.

Download Super One Click V2.2 and run it.

Leave all the default settings and click on "Root"
You will be asked:

That would be a decent thing to do ;-)

DONE.

You should now find a Superuser app on your phone, your phone should be rooted.

As a matter of fact, this USUALLY works with any MT6573 CPU phone, not just this model.

Ainol Novo 7 Paladin ICS 4.0.3 update

Update:

1. Go to your settings and remember where to change the system language ;-)
2. Download the update.zip here
3. Copy the update.zip to the root of your sd-card DO NOT UNPACK
4. Tablet is off, sd-card is inserted. Press and hold Vol + and Power until update procedure starts.
5. Be patiend, wait until update is complete and tablet reboots.
6. Go to the settings and change the language from Chinese to whatever you like (hope you didn't skip step 1) ;-)
7. Enjoy :-)
